Kogi State House of Assembly Adhoc Committee investigating the dealings of mining companies in the state has ordered the management of CINAFINDEV, producer of Kogi Super Cement not to sell the company.
Chairman of the House Adhoc Committee, Hon Umar Isah Tenimu who represents Lokoja 1 constituency in the Assembly, yesterday, gave this order during a public investigative hearing at Reverton Hotel Lokoja.
” The management of CINAFINDEV should not make any attempt to sell the company without the knowledge of Kogi State in order to avoid any unexpected consequences” he warned.
Tenimu went further to direct the company to make available to the committee all the relevant documents including the laboratory tests carried out on the raw material in Emiworo meant for production in the company.
The Chairman noted that there was always a need for Kogi State agencies or ministries in charge to always make proper and rewarding arrangements with prospective investors before giving them the go-ahead, adding that Chinese investors are smart and out to exploit unsuspecting Nigerians and then run away.
He directed that CINAFINDEV, MANGER, and KIPL to appear before the committee on October Wednesday 19, 2022.
